Download: Declaration of consent (from May 2021)
What is broad consent?
Patients of the Magdeburg University Hospital are requested to make their pseudonymized health data available to the Faculty of Medicine. To this end, a nationwide standardized letter of consent (“broad consent”) has been introduced.
Official patient information video of the TMF (umbrella organization for networked medical research in Germany) and the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research):
When will I sign the letter of consent?
As part of your admission consultation you will be asked if your pseudonymized health data may be used for medical research. You can sign the consent form then.
Will I have the opportunity to read through the letter of consent first?
Yes, you can download the letter of consent here as a pdf document and read it in advance.
Will I be able to withdraw my consent?
Yes, to do so please contact the Trust Agency in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Magdeburg in writing stating your full name and date of birth.
What are Z-modules in broad consent?
The so-called Z-modules are used, among other things, for the provision of your data in the current Covid-19 research and other pandemic research projects. You agree to the central consolidation of your data, which serves a more effective pandemic research.
I have other questions! Who can I contact?
We invite you to call the Trust Agency (0391 672 4362), email us () or use the contact form provided.
